(Dis)respecting the dead
This article is morbid, yet funny at the same time... (maybe it's my somewhat black sense of humor)
Obviously, whatever happens to the body during or after death won't impact its future resurrection, but what exactly are the ethics concerning treatment of dead bodies? The LDS Church officially says cremation of dead bodies is "not encouraged", although it is mandatory in some countries and won't impact any future resurrection either. (God knows how to 'pick up the pieces', essentially). Donating parts or entire bodies to science for transplant or research has been encouraged for a long time. And, military weapon and equipment research is just the same as any other research for human benefit...right? Have we crossed a line here? Discuss...

I find it odd that those that deplore land mines have a problem with the U.S. military trying to develop defensive (!) weapons that are designed to to maim. Maybe I'm asking for too much, but "is there any consistency in the house"? (referring to media, political critics, myself . . . and not necessarily The baron).
