News Article Roundup

A random smattering of articles that caught my eye:

Choose-The-Gender-Of-Your-Baby Kits--only $199!! Very clever scam...50% of the clients are going to get the results they're looking for, and for the others, all the company has to do is claim they 'didn't do it right'...

This is funny without even reading the story: Brawl breaks out at anger management assembly

Bob Dylan's lingerie ad causes controversy -- I'm just glad the 'controversy' wasn't about what I thought it was from the headline...

Worst Literal Interpretation of Scripture Award--(warning: not for the squeamish) Convicted criminal plucks out own eye in accordance with Mark 9:47

British adults have distorted view of history This is similar to the concept of relative history I alluded to in my post on the purpose of religion. I'm sure a similar survey of Americans would have the same result. Assuming they were answering seriously (which is doubtful, frankly, but you never know...) you've got to laugh at the 3 percent of the population that thinks the battle of Helm's Deep from 'Lord of the Rings' really happened, or the 1 percent who said the defeat of humanity by the Cylons (portrayed in "Battlestar Galactica") really happened (um...wouldn't you have remembered that?)
