Happy Thoughts--July 19, 2004
Things that make me happy:
1. Good sacrament talks
2. Raspberries
3. Albert Pujols (.314 / 24 HR / 65 RBI) and Scott Rolen (.333 / 19 HR / 84 RBI)--My fantasy baseball team's two-headed monster.

Are you a Cardinals fan? Or do you just know good fantasy picks when you see 'em?

I'm a 'sports' fan, which means I root for 'new faces' in the playoffs every year. (Which means, actually, the Cardinals this year in the NL, and Anyone-But-The-Yankees in the AL)
Pujols is a fantasy no-brainer, of course; but Rolen has been solid all year and was a good mid-season pickup for me.
(Coincidently, as anyone who watched the game last night saw--Scott Rolen 2-run homer in the 8th to win the game...)
Speaking of sports, I should be ready to launch my sports blog sometime next week--I'll probably make the announcement on Monday...

You're right about Pujols: you can't go wrong with 5 for 5 and 3 home runs like he had today.

Albert Pujols hit his third homer of the game in the ninth inning, a tiebreaking shot that sent the St. Louis Cardinals to an 11-8 comeback victory over
the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday.

I'm happy for you...and sad for me; yet...still a Cubs fan. Argh...

St.Louis has a 'team of destiny' look right now, doesn't it? I have Chris Carpenter (11-3) on my team too...

My two horses, Jim Thome (31, 69, .293) and Manny Ramirez (27, 78, .342), stack up pretty well against yours, I think. My pitching, on the other hand, is horrible (where have you gone, Bartolo Colon?).
