Famous Mormons!

Just FYI--here's an interesting site with lists of famous Mormons in various fields--from business and politics, to sports and entertainment.  (There were a lot more current Major League Baseball players on the list than I would thought.)  Note, of course, that the list refers to names on membership rolls only, without regard to current church 'activity'.

There's also lists for 'Famous Mormon Criminals' (didn't waste any time getting Mark Hacking on the list, I see...) and 'Rumored' LDS celebrities.

Does anyone else find it odd that there is an ad for LDSSingles.com next to the Mark Hoffman entry?

Does anyone find it odd that divorce is very high in Mormons? Hmmm...I wonder what they are not telling us.

"Does anyone find it odd that divorce is very high in Mormons?"

Is it? What are you comparing to? Last I checked the general divorce rate of marriages involving Church members (non-temple marriages, and member/non-member pairings) was the same as the national rate, and the temple marriage divorce rate was a lot lower.

Of course, if you're comparing the current divorce rate to what the divorce rate 'should' be considering how much emphasis the Church places on strong families, then you'd have a point... Never underestimate the ability of Church members to tell everyone they meet about the power and truthfulness of gospel principles but then completely ignore them when it comes to themselves...

"Hmmmm...I wonder what they are not telling us."

(?) What, you think the LDS Church leaders know the secret for developing healthy marriages and avoiding divorce and are keeping it hidden? Sure...
