What is with "impact" these days? You'd think we were living in a battle zone or being constantly pelted with meteorites or something. Everything is impacted. You're impacted, I'm impacted, the snowstorm/marathon/strike will impact on transit services, this great new ad campaign will impact customers. Impact, impact, impact. I need a helmet.
It seems wrong to me. I understand that impact has been used as a verb since 1601, but it just doesn't feel right.
And don't even get me started on impactful.
